This two-day class
gets you started and teaches you all the basics of copper foil construction. During this in depth class, students will be taught techniques that make stained glass fun and easy to learn. Topics covered
include glass selection, pattern preparation, advance glass cutting
and soldering techniques, and how to reinforce, clean and hang projects.
The cost includes the use of good quality tools (no shared tools)
and all the materials for your project.

| Introduction to Glass

During this three-hour
course students will learn the basics of glass fusing using 'System
96' products. Students will have the opportunity to work with a variety
of glass frit, stringers and noodles while creating four fused coasters or an 8 inch plate which will be ready for pick up the following week.
The properties of glass and how they impact glass when it is heated
in the kiln, as well as safety and kiln selection are discussed during
the course of the class. Examples of completed projects and failed
pieces are used to show not only how to make properly finished projects,
but also how to solve problems and prevent failures in the future.
Students should have basic cutting skills for this class. The cost
includes the use of tools and all materials.

introduce students to the art of stained glass using copper foil construction.
Students will cut, foil and solder together a simple suncatcher during
this one-day class. The cost includes the use of

This class is designed to introduce you to a technique other than the copper foil method and teaches you the basics of working with lead channel. Using a design chosen by the instructor, students will learn to how to construct a stained glass panel using lead came. Basic glass cutting, pattern preparation, reinforcing and finishing will also be covered. The cost includes the use of tools and all materials.

This 12-hour class is for students who have taken our Introduction to Leaded Glass class and want to make a more advanced project. Students should pick a project no larger than 15” x 20” and depending on the complexity of the piece you may have to finish at home or for a fee, work on it outside class time until it's completed. There will be a review of cutting methods and pattern preparation as well as reinforcing and finishing. The cost includes the use of tools. All supplies must be, or have been purchased at T.J. Homecrafts Stained Glass.

| Improve Your Soldering |

If you spend hours working
on a project just to be disappointed by your soldering, this class
is for you. During this class students will learn professional soldering
techniques as well as the do's and don'ts that can affect the look
of your finished project. Arrange to bring in a project that is ready
to solder (approx. 15 to 20 pieces), your soldering iron and get ready
to say good-bye to bumps, flat spots and wavy lines.

| Stained Glass Stepping

During this class students will design and make a mosaic stained glass and concrete stepping stone. The techniques taught in this class are standard for making many different types of mosaic items such as coasters, trivets, tabletops as well as stepping stones. No knowledge of glass cutting is required. The cost includes all materials and the use of a mold and tools.

This two-day class will show you the techniques that take the mystery out of lamp construction. Using a design chosen by the instructor, students will make an attractive lamp in their choice of colours. Learn about glass selection, vase caps, spiders and reinforcing. A variety of lamp assembly tools will be available for students to use during the class. Students should have basic cutting and soldering skills for this class.

your choice of glass and a selection of brass filigree and twisted

way to introduce yourself to the art of stained glass. Using precut
glass pieces and a selection of brass filigree accents students will
make a lead wrapped, hanging angel that will be a perfect Christmas

Studio Rental

No space to work on your glass projects at home or no kiln to fire your fused projects? Call and book studio space or a kiln firing. To rent studio space, you must have previous glass experience and be capable of working on your own. We provide the space, tools and minimal supervision. Due to limited storage space you must be able to take your project home at the end of each day. All supplies must be, or have been purchased from T.J. Homecrafts Stained Glass.

For students who have taken our Introduction to Glass Fusing class and want to make another project in the design of their choice. The cost is based on an 8" plate or bowl and includes the use of tools, materials and two firings. Additional costs may apply to premium glass or larger projects.

During this three-hour class learn a little bit about stained glass while making fun and easy lead wrapped projects using precut glass pieces, glass nuggets, brass filigree and lead hobby came. Choose what you would like to make from a list of projects and pay the materials fee for only those projects you choose to make. No knowledge of glass cutting is required. The cost includes the use of tools.

In this one-day class learn a technique to virtually eliminate the problem of black edge showing up on your stained glass mirrors.
Using a design chosen by the instructor, students will make an attractive
mirror in their choice of colours. Topics covered include glass selection,
assembly, and hanging as well as how to choose and attach the right
overlay for any shape and style of mirror. Students must have basic
cutting skills for this course. The cost includes the use of tools
and all materials.

Bead Making ~ no experience required |

During this two-day class students will be taught the techniques of glass bead making using Italian glass rods and a bead makers torch. Students will learn the basic bead shapes, decorating techniques, use of hand tools, glass theory and safety.
Each student will take home the beads they made themselves. Students should wear cotton clothing and closed toe shoes. There will be a ½ hour lunch break each day. The cost includes the use of tools and all materials.

This two day workshop includes a basic review and expands your knowledge base to include hollow beads, simple florals, plunged dots and greater stringer control. Built into this schedule is a small amount of extra free time to practice. Please wear closed toed shoes and cotton clothing.
